"Sidney T. "Sid" Webb, 58, of Cedar Rapids, IA, formerly of East Prairie, MO, died unexpectedly Jan. 7, 2004, in East Prairie. Born Feb. 14, 1945, in East Prairie, son of Kathryn Lemmons Webb of East Prairie and the late Joseph A. Webb, he lived in East Prairie during his youth and graduated in 1963 from East Prairie High School. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and then served in the U.S. Air Force. In 1973, he moved to Cedar Rapids, where he was employed by Ampro Group and Ferring & Associates. Webb owned "The Perfect Thought Inc.," a retail store in Cedar Rapids for 16 years. At the time of his death, he was employed as a flooring manager for Smulekoff's Department Store in Cedar Rapids. A member of the Lovely Lane United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, he was also a member of the Tuesday Noon Optimist Club and member of their bowling league. He was also a past member of the Cedar Rapids Boat Club. Survivors in addition to his mother include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Brian Koester, and Sarah and Steve Medbery; one brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Judy Webb; one sister, Martha Webb; and other relatives and friends. . . . Burial: IOOF Cemetery, Charleston, Mississippi County, MO."

Holton-Arms, founded in 1901 by Jessie Moon Holton and Carolyn Hough Arms, is a college preparatory school for girls that moved in 1963 from downtown Washington, DC to a 57-acre campus in suburban Bethesda, MD. Among those who attended Holton-Arms are Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and the actress-comedienne-producer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
