- Ancestry.com: "John was given on the 1815 tax list of Randolph Co. He was a large land owner, an extensive planter and trader, and influential in public affairs. He lived across the river from his father and about a fourth of a mile north of present New Hope Church. (Facts taken from an account by his grandson, J.E. Presnall, per Mary Louise Donnally's 2002 book, "Presnall / Presnell & Allied Families.") John left a will in Randolph Co. He and Rebecca are buried at New Hope Church, Seagrove NC"
