"...Directly across the street from the (Rollins) mill, in the northwestern corner of Cumberland county, North Carolina, lived elder Stephen Senter, a Methodist preacher, and his wife, Mary.. Stephen Senter owned a plantation of one square mile which contained six hundred and forty acres and was bordered by Chatham county on the west and Wake county on the north. They were the parents of Lucinda Senter who was born in 1782.
[Deed for Stephen Senter, Sr.]
Book 20, page 172, Cumberland Co, NC:
March 3, 1804. I, Stephen Senter, Sr. and Mary Senter his wife do make a deed of gift revoking all other written contracts and agreements...That is to say my land and stock and also my household property which shall remain after death on the condition that said William Senter, my grandson a son of Henry Senter do take... care of me and my wife during of life. I make this decree also that is to say if ... lives with me eight years. I give one cow and calf, feather bed and furniture unto him.
Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of W. Nathan Prince, William Utery. signed by Stephen Senter (seal) and Mary (her mark) Senter;
State of North Carolina, Cumberland County, April Term 1804.
Then was the execution of this (deed) proved by Nathan Prince and ordered to be ... and registered. Robeson Mumford, CC

"...Concerning the deed in Cumberland Co. March 3, 1804 from Stephen and Mary giving William Senter, son of Henry, all his property if he will take care of them.... on December 29, 1804 William Senter relinquished all rights and claims...the statement that William, son of Henry, went "back to Cumberland Co." to take care of Stephen and Mary. I'm sorry but... I still don't think Henry went to VA until after 1808 when he sold property in Cumberland.
