Ramillies, Hawkins, Colombo, Cardiff, Calypso and Royal Sovereign .
At one time was Captained by "Bubbles" James the subject of Sir J EMillais painting "Bubbles" . Was involved in the rescue work of the,Corinth earthquake in 1928. He was invalided out of theRoyal Marines in 1937 due to ear problems. After marrying in Croydonobtained a job at the Grand Theatre, Croydon until returning toNewcastle. Was publican at many houses in Newcastle before becomingChief Security Officer at Tyne Tees Television for ten years. Hefinished his career at the BBC, Newcastle.
