Charles W Penrose - Significant Historical and Personal Events

This is a record of LDS Church ordinations and callings and is supplemental to the Chronological History.

Charles William Penrose,

The Utah Genealogical and Historical Magazine said that Charles was a journalist, Newspaper Editor, Politician and Church official. He served The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in several capacities among which were the quorum of the 1st Presidency under two Presidents, Apostle and member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, member of the Salt Lake Stake presidency and also as President of the Utah Genealogical Association.

Although Charles was deeply interested in discovering his lineage he could not determine which Richard Penrose of Redruth was his grandfather. Many years later he was determined to be the Richard Penrose who married Elizabeth Lovelace or Lovelass when that connection was finally determined the rest of the Redruth pedigree was laid out and joined to the Sennen Branch of the Penrose's of Cornwall correcting a pedigree that had been prepared by Archibald Bennett, a succeeding President of The Utah Genealogical Association, it was then presented to the Charles W. Penrose Family Association as herein presented.
