"Mary Ann faced death as she faced life with intelligence, courage, and a loving concern for others. On Saturday, June 13, 2015 she passed away peacefully at age 84 in her Elm Grove home of 48 years.
Mary Ann (nee Wensink) grew up in Wauwatosa. After high-school, she graduated from Beloit College where she was a member of Mortar Board, Phi Beta Kappa, Delta Gamma Sorority and served as President of Panhellenic Council.
Mary Ann was the beloved wife and best friend for 61 years of Lloyd. Loving mother of Michael, of Berkeley, CA, Sandra (Bill) Haack, of Elm Grove and Kari Casey Collins, of Denver, CO. Most proud grandma of Caitlin and Kyle Casey, Kirsten and Kevin Haack and Mera and Kora Freeman-Gerlach. Further survived by family and many friends far and wide.
While living in the San Francisco Bay area in the mid-50?s, Mary Ann began pursuing an early dream of being an artist, specifically in fiber. She studied with a San Francisco weaving teacher, bought a loom, and began skills that took her to many places in the U.S. and abroad. Mary Ann created a successful career in fine arts and won numerous prizes.
Aside from her art interests, Mary Ann served her theater and civic passions through her role on the boards of Milwaukee Chamber Theater, the Milwaukee Repertory Theater (including the building committee for the new theater complex in 1993), and the Brookfield Congregational Church. Whether in the Arts, business, sports, travel or enjoying family life, Mary Ann urged living life to the fullest."
