She was born July 30, 1914 in Forrest City, AR to Louis & Minnie Dorinda (Coble) Hamilton. She married Wilson Stanford on September 9, 1933 in Cisne. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1984. She later married Albert VanDyke on July 16, 1988 in Clay City. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1996.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethlehem Christian Church. Dorothy enjoyed making noodles and coconut pies, gospel music, and she loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son: Jim Stanford & wife Joann of Flora; a daughter: Norma Hargis & husband Frank of Flora; 2 sisters: Captola Barbee of Flora and Leona Totten & husband Jim of Noble; a brother: Don Hamilton & wife Barbara of Flora; 7 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 1 granddaughter (Diana Lynn Stanford), 4 brothers (Earl, Raymond, Clint & Louis "Bud" Hamilton), and 2 sisters (Violet Wheeler & Lena Colaclasure)."
