- Many years a resident of La Cygne, KS. He was employed in the mines in the West and in Joplin, MO. Later he became the proprietor of a variety store in La Cygne. He also served the community of La Cygne in such various capacities as mayor, police judge and justice of the peace.
After a visit to his daughter Mrs Erven Kohl, Adam boarded a Frisco train at the Union Station in Kansas City and there succumbed to a heart attack. He had departed after his visit in seeming good health and good spirits. His lifeless body, discovered by a porter, was removed from the train at Henning St.
